This afternoon, Governor Greg Abbott announced that much of Texas businesses can reopen.

He based the decision on the lowered percentage of hospitalized patients with COVID-19.

Abbott said the following businesses on Monday may open with 75% capacity – retail, restaurants, offices, manufacturing, museums, libraries and gyms.

Long-term care facilities on Sept. 24 may reopen for “essential care giver visits.”

However, bars may not reopen. The governor said the state is working with bar owners and groups to find ways they may reopen, while still fighting COVID-19.
