After experiencing a tumultuous year like 2020, many young professionals in our community are still adjusting to life amidst the global pandemic.

Despite the obstacles and challenges faced, the word to describe our Abilene Young Professionals (AYP) during this time is “resilient.”

Whether AYPs were transitioning into leadership roles, raising young children, or partnering with nonprofits to make a difference in our community, young professionals across the Big Country continued to move the needle on necessary and powerful growth in their organizations. Our young professionals continue to lead, learn and overcome adversity in these new territories with resiliency and determination.

This is why we are pleased to announce the theme for our third West Texas Young Professional Leadership Summit as Uncharted.

Sponsored by Lawrence Hall – Abilene, the half day event on June 3 at the Abilene Convention Center will offer a myriad of opportunities for professionals to further explore their unique talents, tackle the topic of mental health, learn to lead with an unbiased lens, and so much more!

From our headline speaker, Marcedes Fuller, to the many breakout sessions mentioned above, the entire day is designed to empower young leaders to think outside of the box while evaluating themselves from the inside and out. In an effort to equip young professionals with the tools and resources to be an asset in their organization, participants will have the opportunity to hear from panelists/speakers with diverse life experiences and perspectives.

Participants will also have the opportunity to meet and celebrate this year’s much anticipated 20 under 40 class!

In addition, with speakers from the San Angelo and Odessa region, leaders from all around the Big Country are welcome to gather and rally around our mission – to connect, develop and grow as young professionals.

We hope that you’ll encourage your young talent to seek out this local opportunity to continue their growth, and we look forward to seeing them there!
