Abilene Chamber to Host Book Signing

What are you reading this summer? The Abilene Chamber of Commerce and its affiliates are thrilled to present your newest coffee table obsession - Abilene, Texas: Heart of the Big Country written by local journalist, Loretta Fulton, and with photos by local artist, Steve Butman. The Chamber will host a book signing, in partnership with Texas Star Trading Co., on Thursday, Aug. 1 from 4:00-6:00 pm to officially commemorate the unveiling of the book.

“The unique perspective this book provides on the Abilene area’s desirability as a place to raise a family, succeed in business, and enjoy the amenities and opportunities of a thriving, dynamic community is something we’re thrilled to have captured,” said Doug Peters, President and CEO of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce. “This project is a legacy that will be viewed and enjoyed for years to come.”

The 208-page book allows readers to discover the rich history, the thriving present, and imagine what the future holds. The five chapters explore the city and the region through Heritage, Economy, Places, Style and People with a section that profiles many of the Region’s leading businesses and organizations.

Books can be purchased exclusively at the Texas Star Trading Co. located at 174 Cypress St. Ste. 101. For more information, please visit abilenechamber.com.
