How do you give back to the community?
For new businesses coming into the community, we get to know them and let them know of all that we have to offer. We want their business to succeed and want to help them with their marketing. We offer a 24" 60" banner of their choice complete with their logo and wording they want. We also add grommets to the corners and across the top & bottom for easy hanging. Another thing we give them is 100 pages of color flyers/menu's/coupons/or what ever is needed. We offer printing of their hiring and training materials with a coupon to use. If the business is some kind of chain or franchise, we determine if they have a Store Purchasing Card (discount card) that would save them money throughout the store.
All year long we have a program called "GIVE BACK TO SCHOOLS" where the customer gets to pick any K-12 grade school and the 'OFFICE DEPOT FOUNDATION' donates 5% of every purchase to ANY K-12 school in the country. We also do 'BACK TO SCHOOL' supply drives that the donated supplies are delivered to local schools for those that their parents may not be able to purchase supplies. We donate to 3-4 schools every year. Along with that, customers are able to 'ROUND UP' to the nearest dollar to be given to the school of their choice also. I am proud to say that OfficeMax last year took in over $20K for these programs.
We partner with several squadrons from Dyess to hold a 'BACK TO SCHOOL BASH' to collect supplies and donations to go along with the above program.
We have partnered with several businesses, churches and organizations that want to select 1-5 schools and purchase the supplies they need. We organize and fill the orders and help deliver them to the schools if needed.
We also have a program of "SUPPORT OUR FIRST RESPONDERS". We take donations of cases of water and donate them to the local and surrounding fire departments, police stations, sheriff's offices & ambulance services. In 2 days my staff took in 113 cases of water, (that's all we had) to be delivered by a local MC club that had purchased 100 cases and had a parade thru town to deliver to station 1.
We have donated flyers, posters, banners, etc.. to numerous charity golf tournaments, walks, fundraising events and the such that gives us so much joy and pride to live and work in ABILENE, TX
COMMUNITY is one of our 5C Cultures and without the community support of us, and our support of them, Abilene would not be what it is today.
