What makes your business stand out?
"My clients come to me because they have been hurting a long time, and nothing else has helped them. I intend for you to be pain free throughout your day.
Other therapy approaches address symptoms. I will find the root cause of your problem, and I will release that root cause, freeing you to function the way you want to."
I have been a Physical Therapist for thirty years, and a Massage Therapist for five years. My approach is completely holistic. The root cause of dysfunction can come from anywhere in the body, and my approach is to find and release that cause.

What do customers say about working with you?
"I have been in three auto accidents (one was head-on, in another I was rear-ended by a moving van, and in the third my vehicle rolled all the way over 360 degrees). In all three accidents the vehicles were totaled by the insurance company. With arthritis in my neck, mid-back, and lower back, my doctor has recommended surgery several times but I have chosen not to. After decades of chronic pain, I went to Hands on Healing. With some areas of pain I noticed immediate relief. I have experienced dramatic results with all of my complaints. I highly recommend Gary Collins and Hands on Healing."
---Douglas D. (August, 2019)

"Gary Collins is amazing at finding/treating pain! His extensive training and ability listen and determine the treatment needed make him my choice for pain relief when I have discomfort. I walked into his office with SI joint pain and walked out with no pain."
-----Terri Hobbs (October, 2020)

"Gary is highly skilled with many years of experience as a Physical Therapist. As a colleague and a patient of his, I have personally experienced a huge benefit from his advanced training in Counterstrain Techniques. My improved general sense of well-being and pain relief have enabled me to get back to activities I have not been able to do for years."
----Mici Graham (November, 2020)

"A few sessions with Gary decreased my pain (sciatica due to herniated discs) significantly. I am very thankful for Gary's help and recommend him highly. He is professional, personable, and genuinely concerned about the well-being of his clients. I am amazed how quickly my symptoms improved after being treated by Gary. I recommend him enthusiastically!"
---Fr. Phillip LeMasters (November, 2020)

"I could not be happier with my experience with Gary Collins at Hands on Healing. I had headaches for 6+ months, and all over discomfort. I saw him the first time and they have not returned. His technique is Non-invasive and incredibly effective. Mind-blowing!
---Cassey Holland (August, 2021)

" Professionalism, caring, gentleness, and old-school etiquette are part of the experience at the "Hands on Healing" office. I spent 2020 (not only dealing with the pandemic as everyone did)with a constant pain in my back and hip. I could not walk correctly and had trouble rising from a sitting position. I attended Rehab and received regular massages with improvement, but I was not getting total relief. The difference is Gary Collins and Fascial Counterstrain. My body responded to Fascial Counterstrain immediately. I am free of the pain, and my posture is better than it has been in years! There are unexpected additional benefits: I underwent open-heart surgery in 2015. After the third or fourth Fascial Counterstrain treatment, I took a walk and suddenly felt my chest relax (it felt like someone removed a vest of armor.) I could breathe deeper/fuller. As I continue this treatment, healing the abuses that I heaped upon my body, my anxiety is less, and I am losing weight. Thank you, Gary Collins for being a special part of our world! Blessing of good health to all!

Hello, my name is Otto Thompson from Abilene Texas and after injuring my right shoulder in February 2019 from dumbbell bench pressing, I sought treatment from Gary Collins, who is a licensed physical therapist as well as a certified massage therapist. I did not know what to expect after the first 1 to 2 sessions because everything seemed very subtle with very little movement or manipulation. Soon after receiving 3 to 4 more treatments, my shoulder improved tremendously. By the time I reached my 5th to 6th treatment, I was sold on Gary’s specialized pain-relieving techniques. As of today, I am back at about 95% of shoulder strength with 100% on days that I give myself adequate rest from weight training. That is outstanding for a person who could not lift his arm over his head without pain for 2 to 3 months. I can dumb-bell press 75lbs per hand up to 15 reps at once without pain. I am 47 years old and my weight is 160lbs. Gary is my go-to-therapist for shoulder and back relief and I highly recommend him for all joint/muscle pain relieving needs. Think of Gary and give him a try before you think of joint injections or surgeries. Definitely!!!!

Please share the value of Chamber involvement.
Making use of every opportunity to do your best work for your clients, and offering what you do best to the community, is very dependent on exposure, networking, and simply reaching out a connecting with people. What I have seen and experienced is that the Abilene Chamber of Commerce provides great expertise and opportunities, on a regular basis, for exposure and connection to happen.

What culture do you provide within your company?
Because I have personally had to deal with pain before, I know what it’s like to be hurting. I want you to know you are well cared for when you come in to see me for solutions. I want you to experience compassion, respect, and presence from me while I am working with you to resolve whatever it is that keeps you from fully functioning.

How do you give back to the community?
I like to consider myself to be a resource for people and for the community. There are many people who are hurting, both physically and emotionally. It is my desire, my yearning to connect with people in such a way that they feel nurtured and supported by the work I do. I have been involved one-on-one mentoring, prison ministry, and I stay connected with my church to volunteer as needed. I have also provided the hands on healing work that I do in a mission clinic setting here in town.
