Fall Into Abilene

The days of 100-degree temperatures are finally behind us (we hope), and cool fall weather is on our doorstep. No longer will we have to resort being stuck inside and staying as close to the AC as possible. It’s time to get back outside and see what fall in Abilene has to offer!

There is one Abilene event that truly kicks off the fall season. The West Texas Fair and Rodeo is one of the biggest and most exciting events in town. It brings in thousands of visitors and gives us all a taste of wonderful food, thrilling rides and great music. No better way to kick off fall than at the fair and rodeo.

Is it truly fall without some fall themed coffee? Abilene has some of the best coffee this state has to offer. Be sure to get your favorite pumpkin spiced latte to slide into the fall frame of mind. Click here for your go to guide for Abilene Coffee.

Speaking of drinks, don’t forget about one of the best traditions the fall has to offer… Octoberfest! Check out the Abilene Beer Summit at Frontier Texas!, Grain Theory’s Oktoberfest and Sockdolager’s Socktoberfest.

College football fans will always associate fall with football season. Tailgating and getting ready for the big game is always a staple for this time of year and Abilene has you covered with a full college football schedule. Abilene Christian, Hardin-Simmons and McMurry will give you all the college football you can handle all fall long. Go out and cheer on your favorite teams this season!

Feeling inspired by all the incredible athletic competition? Sign your company team up for the year’s Abilene Corporate Olympics to go up against other Abilene organizations to see will take home this year’s crown.

Cooler weather means more patio time with friends at your favorite Abilene restaurants. The new Allen Ridge development by ACU is the best patio spot in town and you can enjoy breakfast at The Biscuit Bar, a nice burger from Twisted Root, tacos from Fuzzy’s and coffee at Summermoon. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the great patio atmosphere and weather at Allen Ridge.

Need your pumpkin fix? We’ve got you covered. Put your plaid shirt on and head out to Denton Valley Farms to see the biggest pumpkin patch in the Big Country with over 100 acres to enjoy with your family and friends this fall. Need even more pumpkins in your life? Get artsy at the NCCIL Extreme Pumpkin Carving party.

Abilene can also be full of fright in the fall. Journey into the past at the Swenson House for their annual Boo Bash for the Halloween season. Finish off the fall with hikes at Abilene State Park to enjoy nature and the changing colors of the season.

Abilene in the fall is special for the locals and visitors. Let’s get out and enjoy the cool weather and everything Abilene has to offer this fall!
