University students have a strong presence in the Abilene community.

With roughly over 6,000 students currently enrolled in our collective post-secondary education institutions, it is hard not to notice how important they are to our community.

Not only do they help boost our economy, but they provide a home-grown talent pipeline to many of our businesses.

We want these future leaders to stay in our community, which is why our young professional program is excited to announce Intern ABI.

Intern ABI is a program designed to connect the next generation of Abilene’s workforce to career possibilities, engagement with the Abilene community, and our young professionals in our area.

Hosted and sponsored by AYP, this gives your summer interns the opportunity to learn more about why Abilene should be top of mind after graduation.

We’ll engage our community summer interns collectively through a series of events such as speed networking, an AYP After Five, and wrap up with a luncheon.

We know that internships are a great opportunity for companies to identify and eventually hire new talent. Let us help you by showing all of the great things our community has for young professionals while strengthening local ties and fostering a spirit of collaboration.

To have your summer intern(s) participate, contact your Chamber’s Talent & Emerging Business Specialist, Cameron Sloan, here.
