Staff Reports

Abilene, a town known for its winning spirit and thriving local businesses, continually demonstrates community support through various causes. As the Senior Sales Director for the Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau, an affiliate of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, I am privileged to witness this camaraderie on a daily basis.

In celebration of this spirit and to support an important cause, the Abilene Sports Alliance proudly announces the return of the Corporate Olympics for its second year. This exciting fundraiser benefits local high school athletes through our scholarship program and promotes events that generate overnight stays via our grant program. Abilene's second Corporate Olympics will take place on October 5th and 7th and is open to any local business interested in participating.

Abilene: A Growing Sports Tourism Destination

The sports tourism market is a rapidly expanding segment of the travel industry, and Abilene has already gained a positive reputation in this arena. The Corporate Olympics not only highlight the town's winning spirit but also showcase the many impressive facilities and attractions that Abilene has to offer. To date, more than $165,000 in scholarship monies have been awarded to local athletes and over $100,000 granted to local sporting events.
