Mark Rogers was a shining example of leadership, mentorship, and community spirit in Abilene. As the West Central Texas Market President for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star, and a former sports director for KTXS, Mark's impact reached far beyond professional titles. He was a connector, a mentor, and a friend to many.
Mark’s deep-rooted commitment to empowering young people and building community remains a guiding light. His tragic passing on March 13, 2021, at the age of 39, was a profound loss. Yet, his legacy lives on through the leaders who follow in his footsteps — individuals who give back, uplift others, and strive to make Abilene a stronger community.
The Mark Rogers Young Professional of the Year Award honors individuals who reflect the same qualities that defined Mark: unwavering dedication, compassionate leadership, and a genuine passion for our community. Recipients come from a variety of industries, but all share a commitment to uplifting Abilene and engaging fellow young professionals.
