Strong communities are built on good decisions, and good decisions start with reliable data. That is why we are proud to share the newly updated Community Performance Index, available on GrowAbilene.com, a platform of the Abilene Regional Growth Alliance, a division of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce.
The Community Performance Index is a set of shared metrics that tracks how our region is changing across key economic, workforce, and quality-of-life indicators. Now in its third year of data, this effort helps us measure progress in the areas that matter most to Abilene’s long-term success and economic competitiveness.
Why the Community Performance Index Matters
The Index is designed to provide a clear, data-driven picture of where we are doing well and where opportunities exist. These metrics help inform community leaders, business owners, educators, and residents as they plan, invest, and make decisions about the future of our region.
By tracking consistent data year over year, we can better understand trends, celebrate progress, and align our efforts around shared goals.
A Collaborative, Ongoing Effort
The Community Performance Index is updated annually. Data is collected by Garner Economics and reviewed and maintained by Chamber team member Nathaniel Ellsworth to ensure accuracy and consistency.
This dashboard is not just a report—it is a resource. We encourage our members and community partners to explore the data and use it to support informed decision-making as we continue working together to grow Abilene.
