Serving as the West Central Texas Market President of Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star, Mark’s commitment to mentorship and youth development was unparalleled. His tenure as a sports director for KTXS further highlighted his dedication to connecting with people and fostering a sense of community.
Mark's qualities—his unwavering dedication, compassionate leadership, and a knack for bringing people together—define what it means to be a recipient of this prestigious award. His tragic passing on March 13, 2021, at the age of 39, left a void in the hearts of many. His legacy endures through our community and the values he embodied live on in our young professionals today.
The Mark Rogers Young Professional of the Year Award is meant to recognize those professionals in our community who embody that same spirit. We recognize the individuals who are not only leaders in their field, but also inspire those around them to perform at their best. Previous recipients of the award have come from many different workforce sectors, but the one thing they all have in common is a passion for this city we call home. The award emphasizes the efforts of the recipient to attract, retain, and engage young professionals in the Abilene area.

The recipient will be announced at the Abilene Chamber of Commerce Membership Meeting and Awards Celebration on September 19, 2024, an event that unites the community to celebrate exceptional contributions and achievements.
